Potential of non-timber forest products in the EFI Macurije

Abstract
This work was carried out in the Forest Integrated Company (FIC) Macurije with the objective of valuing their productive potentialities as for the No Wooded Forest Product (NWFP). For that, it was carried out a diagnosis of the productive and economic situation of the company in relation to the NWFP, it was carried out a survey to technicians and directive, by means of the technique of questionnaire semi-structured, and the information was taken on the dynamics of the forest patrimony and the productive indicators during 11 years (2001-2011). The results indicate that the entity is in an unfavorable situation with a strategy of survival (69 points), prevailing the weaknesses in the environment of the NWFP, however it was demonstrated through the perception of the directive and technicians the potentialities of the entity as for the NWFP, and a low diversification in their forest productions, that which is reflected in the levels of efficiency. It was demonstrated by means of the lineal programming that the company has available resources (labor, materials and financial) to diversify its forest productions and to improve the levels of economic efficiency.
