Abstract

The present study was developed in the forests belonging to the Guanahacabibes Agroforestry Company. The objective was to evaluate the floristic and phytocenological composition, for it was carried out a survey of 12 plots of 10 x 10m (0,01 ha) where determined the diversity, structure and dynamics of the forest. Horizontal and vertical structure were analyzed, as well as alpha and beta diversity, dasometric variable such as diameter and height were registered, as well as ecological variables that influence the development of the forest: climate and edaphic characteristics. A total of 18 species distributed in the three strata, however there were not significant differences between them. In order to improve diversity in the area and thus increase productivity in the area, it is needed to develop in this forest: Cedrela odorata and Swietenia mahagoni.
