Abstract

This research was conducted in order to propose methods and procedures existing in San Cristobal, Artemis mechanical transformation underutilized species, in order to enhance the satisfaction of the real needs of sawn tropical species with an adequate level of quality. SPSS software was used as a mathematical tool for Windows version 15.015.0. Quantified that preferred by consumers species are mahogany, cedar, Baria, Mahoe and Teak; however those found with a higher density of existence are the Almácigo, Pino female, male Pine, Eucalyptus and Ocuje; making procedures to exploit these raw materials in order to maximize the available timber in the vicinity of the town of San Cristobal, Artemis are proposed; considering cluster analysis showing the similarities of the characteristics of the woods among the preferred species and those prevailing in the studied ecosystem.
