Current status of the invasive exotic species Dichrostachys cinerea (L.) Wight (marabú) in the managed floristic reserve San Ubaldo-Sabanalamar, Pinar del Rio

Abstract
In this paper, the invasive exotic species Dichrostachys cinerea, L. Wight, (marabú) is monitored in the San Ubaldo-Sabanalamar managed floristic reserve, in four pilot areas infested on a large scale by this species, as well as in three areas where it was carried out. The intervention for its elimination and the subsequent methods of ecological restoration. 10 plots of 10 m² were established for each area, all individuals measuring in DPA (D1,30) m from the ground and its height are measured, calculating the density, basal area and volume per hectare, in addition, all the accompanying species were identified and all the arboreal and shrubby individuals thereof. In each of the areas under study, 3 permanent plots of 1m² were set up to monitor natural regeneration. It is determined that the marabú forms dense secondary scrubs with a density of 45 thousand individuals per hectare and wood volume of 122,9 m³ / ha.
