Abstract

It is vitally important to determine the physical-mechanical behavior in general of any piece on which different forces are exerted, this allows to evaluate and predict the resistance, hardness, durability, among other aspects that affect the quality of finished products. The investigation starts from the sampling of panels of medium density fiberboard, agglomerates and laminated plywood in the workshop belonging to the Cultural Assets Fund of the province of Pinar del Río. For this, test tubes of the different types of panels were used, which are used to determine, by their consistency and nature of their compounds, which is the most resistant both in the physical behavior from extreme conditions of humidity and heat, as well as mechanical resistance under constant or continuous impacts. 30 test tubes were taken under the established norms for the determination of the different physical and mechanical properties. The physical properties that are determined are volumetric contraction and density, carried out in laboratories of the University of Pinar del Río. In the case of mechanical behavior, parallel compression and static flexion were performed. It could be determined that in terms of compression values, the specimens denominated MDF are the ones with the least resistance with a value of 66.7 kg / cm2, followed by formica 80.1 kg / cm2 and plywood 87 kg / cm2. In the case of resistance to static bending, plywood is the one with the best response 166 Kg / cm3.
