Abstract

The following investigation was carried out in stands of the Santa Lucia Forestry Unit, belonging to the Mining Agroforestry Company; It aims to evaluate the contribution of litter to soil components in stands of Pinus caribaea var. Caribaea The litter was collected in three site qualities: Stand 1 with site quality I, Stand 3 with quality III and Stand 7 with site quality II, in Pinus caribaea var. Caribaea, aged between 9 and 20 years. Samples of soil with and without litter were obtained, as well as soil from the depth of the calicata and the surface, to determine the contribution of nutrients and organic matter, from the litter to the soil for this concept. The statistical analysis showed that there are no significant differences in the elements, K2O, Mg2 +, N; while in the elements: phosphorus and organic matter if significant differences were found in all cases.
