Abstract

The present work was developed in the UEB Silvícola Guane, belonging to the Company Agroforestal Macurijes, Pinar del Río province, during the months of October 2016 to April 2017, with the objective of carrying out an evaluation of the monitoring the sustainability indicators, during the last four years. The monitoring of the indicators should be carried out to all the Units Silvícolas of the Company, however, this activity frequently is not carried out and in occasions it is ignored, what bears to not obtaining results on scientific bases that guarantee a correct valuation to know the tendencies of the forest handling if it is or not sustainable. The indicators were valued by means of a scale that allows to classify their behavior and the control through several sources, using the Cuban methodology; analyzing the components and the different production systems and the interactions that should exist among the same ones. With these criteria they were carried out the sustainability analyses, as tools to evaluate the acting of 5 criteria with 15 indicators. The qualitative analysis showed that, of the five evaluated approaches, three are with Excellent categories (Vegetable Covering, Sanity and Vitality of the Forests, Multiple Economic Benefits Partner) and two Extremely Weak" (Contribution of the Forest Ecosystems to the Environmental Services, Work Productive of the Forest Ecosystems) due to the insufficient attention on the part of the office workers of the UEB Silvícola as for the knowledge and pursuit of the behavior.
