Excellent research, thank you for sharing it. As far as I know, tropical rainforests are characterized by the greatest abundance of flora on Earth (over 4/5 of all plant species), the predominance of woody species (about 70% of higher plants), and their diversity (from 40 to 100 species per hectare). Unlike temperate forests, rainforests rarely have two trees of the same species standing side by side. In swampy forests, there are more short trees, especially palms, and the superficial root system is more developed. Excessive precipitation, for example, in the marshy areas of Indonesia, makes it difficult to aerate the soil, thereby depleting the floristic composition. I learned this information from the posts on Twitter in which the authors write notes about science and nature. I found there a couple of hundred posts on this topic and noticed that most often they were published by accounts with more than 67 thousand subscribers! I am sure this is because the owners of such accounts have repeatedly buy twitter followers to increase their number.
